HomeEstiMate Version 1How Do I...How do I get estimates/jobs back once they have been archived?

4.91. How do I get estimates/jobs back once they have been archived?

I mistakenly sent estimates to the archives and now want to get them back as active estimates so I can just click on the open icon and pull it up. What do I do?

If you are running version 1.x of EstiMate there is no way to simply 'move' an item that has been archived to the open folder of active estimates. However you can create a duplicate or 'mirror image' of the archived item and then save the duplicate in the folder of open/active estimates. The duplicate will have all information exactly as the archived item however the estimate/job number will be different. Below are the steps to create a duplicate of an archived item:

1. From EstiMate's main screen click Archives>Explorer and click the plus symbol next to the 'All Customers' entry. This will open a list of file folders with customer names next to them.
2. Click the plus symbol next to the file folder of the customer file you want to open. You will see a list of estimates and or jobs you have done for that customer.
3. Click on the estimate or job you want to duplicate. You will see it appear on the left.
4. ** Important ** Click the 'new estimate' button. You will see the archives screen dissappear and a new estimate appear on the screen that is exactly like the one in the archives, except for the estimate number.
5. Simply click the close icon to close out the estimate. Then click on the open icon on the main screen and scroll until you find the duplicate estimate you just created.

Repeat the above process as needed for additional archived items you want to duplicate.
