4.204. How do I use EstiMate on a laptop for quoting in the field?

We are using estimate in the office and have just bought a laptop for the field. Is there a way to have estimate on both computers? We would want to use estimate on the laptop for realtime quotes but the main files would be on the office computer.

The answer is yes. You can use EstiMate on both machines and do quoting in the field. The first step would be to purchase an additional station by calling the sales desk at 888-304-3300.

There are some considerations when doing field quoting.

1. When you bring the laptop back to the home office you will need to enter the estimates in manually into the office database. Restoring the data from the laptop into the office computer is NOT recommended at this time because the data will be overwritten. A merge function is being considered by development for a future release of the software, but for the time being this is a manual entry process.
